September, 2010

I am very surprised that the September of 2010 was gone so fast. Believe me, sometimes it seems quiet here, but lots are going on there…. So, what has been going on?

First of all, I had to take a closer look into my reddot site for detailed information and to figure out what to do next for five short films we submitted this year. Yes, it was a great news. Five pieces won 2010 Red Dot Award: Communication Design! It totally destroyed my plan for taking a break from an intense work, mentally and physically, this past academic year, but I fortunately was working for good.

Then, twenty-two students and I went to Shanghai, Suzhuo, and Hangzhuo in early September for cultural exploration in design and arts, such as Shanghai Expo, IDEO, PEGA, 1933 Shanghai (老場坊), Tianzifang (田子坊), the Humble Administrator’s Garden (拙政園), Suzhou Museum, the Impressions West Lake (印象西湖) (links 1, link 2, link 3), and others. For more information, please view our tour notes in course blog at: http://overseatour.blogspot.com/   We all had a wonderful time in this oversea course.

The instruction began few days after our trip. And then, the battle of  Master-Apprentice’s love returns…
