IDEO’s Human-Centered Design Toolkit

Among many award winnings, IDEO’s “Human-Centered Design Toolkit” provides solutions to difficult challenges for the developing regions. Observation, interviewing, prototyping, understanding the roles of members, spending time along, participatory design method, and  innovation research method…, HCDT provides great methods to help organizations “understand people’s needs in new ways, find innovative solutions to meet these needs, and deliver solutions with financial sustainability in mind (IDEO document).” The complete HCDT and the innovative Field Guide for NGOs and social enterprises is free to download at IDEO website.

Tim Brown,  the CEO of innovation and design firm IDEO, talked about IDEO’s “HCDT” at TED Global 2009 on creativity and play. He pointed out that this toolkit is the guide to designing for social impact via three steps: Hear, Create, and Deliver.
